I use a cross cultural perspective in therapy to create a fuller awareness of how cultural differences impact individuals and their relationships. This lens is particularly important when working with cross cultural couples, interfaith couples, interracial couples or couples who have immigration in their histories. Issues often surface or resurface during periods of transition, such as getting married, having children, choosing schools for children, and dealing with extended family. These are all points at which individuals and couples may feel the need to seek counseling.
